Cockfield Knight oversaw the Agency, working on behalf of T.Ward Shipping and Saipem, for the barge “UR94”, which loaded four foundation piles destined for Norway.

The berthing and sail-away went without incident assisted by Svitzer tugs ultimately handing over to the sea-going tug “Pegasus” which transported the barge over to Stavanger.

Size Doesn't Matter !

zigzagTideway BV brought their 7.5m long survey vessel "Zigzag" on 30th March 2012 to survey part of the Breagh pipeline which they were involved in last year. The "Zigzag" may well hold the Cockfield Knight record for 'Smallest vessel handled' !

She was launched and landed at the slipway owned by South Gare Marine Club which we thank for their assistance.

pieces arrive at antwerp 1Cockfield Knight & Co. Ltd. acted as freight forwarders for the movement of a 38.5m long dredger for final delivery to Luanda, Angola on behalf of Marina & Port Services Limited, Farnham.

The dredger was purchased by them for use in Luanda by their sister company Draimar Projects and needed moving from Damens yard in Nijkerk, Holland.

With assistance from our agents Aneka B.V. (big thanks to Jill & Christel !) it was shipped, after a few weeks of quoting and preparatory work, via the Port of Antwerp on board mv"UAL Gabon" on 2nd February 2012.

Thankfully the dredger is capable of being dismantled and shipped in seperate pieces, the heaviest of which being 63 tonnes. The total consignment consisted of 11 loose pieces and three 40' shipping containers.

Two 86 tonne generators for Nigeria were loaded on board the heavy lift vessel mv"Traveller" on Saturday morning, along with cases of ancillary equipment.

After agreement of the lifting plan and stowage and securing of the pieces, the operation commenced early morning with A.V.Dawsons Rosenkranz crane placing on board the two heavy generators followed by 23 smaller cases using their Gottwald mobile crane.

All done by midday with time for a bacon sandwich in-between whilst the generators were being secured by the vessels crew.

mv"Julie C" loads A.V.Dawsons heaviest cargo

6500 tonnes of fertiliser got loaded during the 5th to 9th December 2011 destined for direct shipment to Australia on board mv"Julie C".

Stowage of the product had to be in strict compliance with Austrailian regulations and the cargo was the heaviest shipment that A.V.Dawsons has handled to date.

Cockfield Knight had the priviledge to act as Agents for the vessel during her port call (Another chart Capt. ? No problem !).
